Melissa Dolbec was drawn to pulmonology through a deep interest in hemodynamics, rare disease, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in a highly specialized area of medicine. She is passionate about the evolving science of pulmonary vascular disease and improving quality of life for patients living with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and pulmonary hypertension.
Melissa brings nearly three decades of clinical experience to her practice, including 20 years in critical care nursing and eight years in general pulmonology. Her background helps her manage even the most complex cases with clarity and confidence, while making sure each person feels seen, heard, and involved in their own care. She loves connecting with patients, hearing their stories, and collaborating with the healthcare team to build treatment plans that combine the best evidence-based medicine with each patient’s personal health goals.
Melissa believes Portland is one of the most special places to live and thinks the city’s strong sense of community is a big part of what makes it so unique. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time making progress on her new obsession with pickleball. Melissa also loves spending time with her husband and dogs and makes regular trips to the East Coast to visit her adult children.
