Dr. Tijana Tuhy with The Oregon Clinic Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine East is in the news discussing how to protect your lungs during wildfire season

Multiple wildfires are burning across Oregon right now and hot, hazy conditions aren’t helping. Although the West side of the Cascades remain clear now, air quality advisories are in effect across Central and Eastern Oregon.

KATU News invited Dr. Tijana Tuhy with The Oregon Clinic Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine East to answer an important question: what does breathing wildfire smoke do to your body?

In the segment, Dr. Tuhy breaks down who is at risk, and warning signs that mean it is time to call a doctor. She also offers simple steps that make a bigger difference than you’d think such as using HEPA filters, wearing N95 masks, and running your car’s AC the right way.
