Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) occurs when there is damage to the inner ear or to the nerve between the inner ear andthe brain.

Causes

SNHL can be caused by: noise exposure, trauma, aging, genetics, etc. 

Symptoms

 People with SNHL notice a reduction in volume and often report a loss of clarity. 

Treatments

Most hearing aid wearers have SNHL.
