Dr. Sophia Hayes believes it is a privilege to provide the highest quality care to patients with lung disease. Specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine allows Dr. Hayes to treat and support patients with debilitating illness to achieve their best possible outcome. Her greatest passion is working with patients toward a shared goal of well-being through innovative treatments and lifestyle medicine.

In her practice, Dr. Hayes prioritizes evidence-based medication management of chronic lung diseases while integrating lifestyle medicine principles to improve patient outcomes. She strives to empower her patients to understand their illness, voice their health values and hopes, and participate in creating a care plan that will restore a sense of autonomy and self-determination. Nothing is more fulfilling for Dr. Hayes than when a patient who starts out a visit feeling confused and overwhelmed by the complexity of their lung disease leaves with a better understanding about their illness

Outside of work, Dr. Hayes, who is a certified permaculture designer, loves to spend time gardening. She also enjoys hiking, gravel biking, nordic and backcountry skiing, and spending time with friends and family, especially if a home-cooked meal is involved.
