Dr. Auran chose a career in orthopedic surgery because of the meaningful, lasting impact he can have on his patients’ lives. He partners closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that relieve pain, restore function, and help them continue doing the activities they love. Seeing his patients regain mobility and confidence is what motivates him most, and he takes great pride in sharing in their success throughout recovery and beyond.

Dr. Auran is fellowship-trained in adult hip and knee reconstruction, with advanced expertise in both primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He has experience working with a wide range of surgical technologies, including multiple implant systems and robotic platforms, allowing him to tailor each procedure to the individual needs of his patients. For hip replacement, Dr. Auran offers minimally invasive techniques, including the Direct Superior approach as well as the Direct Anterior approach, helping patients recover more quickly and return to daily life with minimal disruption.

What Dr. Auran finds most rewarding is hearing from patients who are once again able to enjoy activities that pain once prevented—whether it’s walking a full round of golf, hiking, biking, dancing, or keeping up with grandchildren. Helping patients reclaim these moments is at the heart of his practice, and he remains deeply committed to providing care that supports long-term mobility and quality of life.

Dr. Auran was excited to relocate to the Portland area, drawn by its natural beauty and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing with their dog, hiking, and skiing.
