Dr. Mona LaBar specialized in pathology to complement her love of solving complex problems, pattern recognition ability, and visual way of thinking. Pathology gives her the perfect outlet to combine those strengths in a way that makes a real difference in patient care.

A strong foundation in general surgical pathology gives Dr. LaBar a broader diagnostic perspective for her specialized work in gastrointestinal pathology. She finds it satisfying to combine visual patterns with clinical context to meet diagnostic challenges, knowing that her diagnosis helps shape what comes next for the patient’s treatment.

Dr. LaBar loves Portland’s incredible food and art scenes, its easy access to nature, community-minded vibe, and slower pace of life. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, playing tennis and pickleball, traveling, and reading.

Dr. LaBar is fluent in Arabic.
