Dr. George Bengtson believes that pediatrics offers more miracles per unit of time than any other field in medicine. He feels fortunate to be present in his patients’ lives from the moment they take their first breath to the day they tackle AP Calculus. 

As a generalist who is curious about everything, pediatrics is a perfect fit for Dr. Bengtson. His favorite moments in the clinic are the unexpected ones, like offering a four-year-old a chance to listen to their own heartbeat through a stethoscope and watching their eyes go wide with wonder. Those small moments of grace are what keep him going. 

Dr. Bengtson loves that Portland puts so much within easy reach. When the mood strikes, the ocean, the mountains, and the high desert are all just a short trip away. Closer to home, excellent local desserts like the Boccone Dolce at Papa Haydn offer a different kind of adventure. Outside of the office, he enjoys listening to music of all kinds, riding through the countryside with his wife on their Harleys, and spending time with family, including their new grandson.
