As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Roy Bliley feels honored to support his patients during their time of need. It is important to Dr. Bliley that his patients feel heard. He takes ample time to help them feel comfortable so they can share their story, express their values, and ask questions before creating a personalized treatment plan that matches their desires. Dr. Bliley loves teaching his patients and empowering them with information about their diagnosis, imaging, and treatment options.
Dr. Bliley is highly trained in modern radiotherapy techniques, such as stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and intensity-modulated radiation therapy, as well as procedures such as high dose rate brachytherapy. He has authored papers on the role of modern radiotherapy in treating cutaneous melanoma, as well as bringing advanced cone beam computed tomography techniques to the clinic.
Dr. Bliley appreciates that the Portland area allows him to experience all that the city has to offer along with direct, easy connection to our natural world. In his free time, he enjoys road cycling, hiking, skiing, and relaxing with family.
