About Me

As a third generation physician, I have seen many changes in medicine, including those as viewed from the perspective of my father and grandfather, who practiced before me. Although many of these changes, including some of the technological advances in our specialty of Gastroenterology, have hopefully improved our practice of medicine, clearly today there are complexities and obstacles which have made medicine more difficult for those providing care, and more importantly, for patients for whom we care. In the day to day hectic rush of seeing patients, I always try to remind myself what my father and grandfather told me years ago: medicine is still as much art as science--caring for patients first and foremost requires a thoughtful mind, a caring heart, and patient ears.
