Infertility

Overview

Our Urology providers provide both male and female fertility treatment options. Our physicians were the first in the Portland area to offer the "no-scalpel" vasectomy routinely to patients. In addition, our physicians are experienced in all aspects of male fertility. Vasectomy reversal (Vasovasostomy) continues to be one of the most important ways to help couples have children. We have several Doctors with extensive experience doing Microscopic Vasovasostomy with very high patency rates. In addition to expertise in the evaluation of male factor infertility, Dr. Kaempf has extensive experience with Percutaneous Sperm Aspiration. Many men who have azospermia (no sperm) in the ejaculate actually have sperm being made in the testes. Sperm aspiration either percutaneously with needles or with open microscopic dissection can often retrieve sperm that can be used for in vitro fertilization. Working with local reproductive gynecologists (specialists in female fertility), we have some of the best results in the country with PESA (Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration), TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) and MESA ( Microsurgical Epididymal Sperm Aspiration).
