The Oregon Clinic - Facial Plastic Surgery - Portland, Oregon

Facial Plastic Surgery

About

The specialty of facial plastic surgery includes surgical and non-surgical solutions for improving the appearance and/or functions of the face.

Specifically, reconstructive facial plastic surgery includes procedures to improve nasal breathing, to change or remove birth defects, and to fix defects caused by trauma, skin cancer, or more serious conditions.

Facial plastic surgeons are trained to recognize the skeletal proportions that determine attractiveness. For this reason, your surgeon will analyze your bone structure and facial features carefully before discussing any possible improvements.

Conditions & Procedures

Below is a list of some of the procedures we perform. Select a procedure to find in-depth educational information.

Other procedures we perform:

  • Brow Lift/Forehead Lift. A brow lift can provide a more youthful appearance to the area above the eyes. This procedure improves the look of drooping brows as well as furrows that can make a person appear tired, sad or even angry. A brow lift is often combined with an eye lift or blepharoplasty to rejuvenate the upper third of the face.
  • Earlobe Repair. Torn earlobes can result from trauma and make it impossible to retain an earring. Surgical repair of a torn or cleft earlobe is an in-office procedure done under local anesthesia that restores normal contour to the ear. Patients can typically pierce the ear lobe again within three months.
  • Facial Scar Revision. If you would like to improve the appearance of a scar, you might consider facial scar revision. Our plastic surgeons use injections, steroid medications, and surgical procedures to improve the look the facial scars. Although no scar can be removed completely, these procedures work to improve the appearance of the scar and to make it less noticeable.
  • Injectable FillersInjectable materials like collagen or Juvederm ™ are temporary "fillers" injected into the face to fill out wrinkles or plump up lips. They may also be used to correct contour irregularities or scars.
