Two Doctors of Audiology, Jennifer Briggs and Eric Frederick, Join The Oregon Clinic

The Oregon Clinic

The Oregon Clinic welcomes Jennifer R. Briggs and Eric J. Frederick, both licensed audiologists and Doctors of Audiology, to its staff of ENT specialists. Dr. Jennifer R. Briggs is located at the East ENT division and Dr. Eric J. Frederick at the ENT Plaza division. Both are also Certified Clinical Competence Audiologists (CCC-A).

Dr. Jennifer Briggs has eight years experience as a staff/clinical audiologist at Portland Ear Testing Center, Oregon Health Science University and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Portland as well as at Starkey Laboratories, a leading custom hearing instrument manufacturer. She specializes in adult, geriatric and pediatric diagnostic audiology, tinnitus and hearing aids and assistive listening devices for adults and children. She is also a strong advocate of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

A popular speaker and published researcher on the topic of tinnitus, Dr. Briggs has received several awards, including the Starkey Spirit Award and Audiology Graduate Student of the Year. Most recently, Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber appointed her to a four-year term on the Advisory Council on Hearing Aids, a seven-member consumer protection advisory council.

In addition to receiving a Doctor of Audiology from University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., Dr. Briggs received her Master’s of Science degree in speech and hearing science from Portland State University in Portland, Ore., and a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology from Oregon State University in Corvallis. Additionally, Dr. Briggs is an active member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Eric Frederick has 17 years of experience providing audiologic diagnosis and rehabilitation in clinical settings, including the Audiology Center Northwest LLC, Providence Milwaukie Hospital and the Hearing & Speech Institute in Portland, Ore. A licensed audiologist, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping patients reach their communication goals. His specific clinical areas of expertise are diagnostic hearing evaluation and fitting hearing aids for pediatric through adult populations.  Dr. Frederick has also managed a multidisciplinary medical practice in addition to performing clinical duties there.

Before receiving his Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, he completed a Master’s of Science in audiology at Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in psychology from Indiana University. Additionally, he is an active member of the Oregon Academy of Audiology.
