The Oregon Clinic Imaging Division is awarded accreditation in MRI, CT and Ultrasound
The Oregon Clinic in Portland, Oregon has been awarded accreditation in MRI, CT and Ultrasound by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Oregon Clinic joins the ranks of only a few accredited facilities in Portland, including eight (8) CT facilities, eleven (11) MRI facilities, and nine (9) Ultrasound facilities. “I feel that obtaining the ACR Accreditation is a very important process for The Oregon Clinic’s new state of the art imaging center. Even though this is a voluntary accreditation, it measures and monitors our standard of care demonstrating a commitment to quality,” Patrice Manley, Director of Operation at The Oregon Clinic Imaging Division, stated.
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. “The evaluation process ensures that our equipment is operated and maintained properly; our scanning protocols and image quality meet the most stringent standards; and the imaging staff is properly trained and certified,“ says Manley.
The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic-interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
Manley concludes, “ACR accreditation provides a formal review and expert assessment. Through ACR accreditation, The Oregon Clinic continues to demonstrate and measure our commitment, care, and compassion to our patients and referring physicians.”
