Deviated Septum

Overview

A deviated septum is bending or bowing of the septum, which can cause problems with nasal congestion, chronic or recurrent sinusitis, or nosebleeds.

Symptoms

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Chronic sinus infections
  • Nosebleeds

Treatments

Septoplasty is a surgery performed to straighten a deviated nasal septum (the cartilage that divides the nose into 2 sides).
