COVID-19 Vaccine Update
FDA approval of the first COVID-19 vaccine is welcome news. Studies show the vaccine is safe and effective at preventing COVID-19 and The Oregon Clinic strongly recommends everyone get it once it is widely available.
We care deeply about your health and want to make sure you have access to the most up-to-date information about the vaccine. The Oregon Clinic does not expect to receive any doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for distribution to our patients during the current vaccine rollout. However, with vaccine distribution access and information moving quickly, this may change in the future. We will let our patients know as soon as possible if we have vaccines for patient distribution.
Oregon has recenlty changed their vaccine sign-up process to help respond to increased demand. People who want to book their first vaccine dose should visit the new Get Vaccinated Oregon site and create an account. You will enter your name into a registry, then be notified when it’s your turn to get an appointment. You no longer have to keep checking back to the OHA site and go through the chatbot to determine if vaccine appointments are available. You can see the full OHA announcement here.
Vaccination gives us hope for an end to the pandemic. While we wait for the vaccine to become available to the general population, we need to continue safety measures to keep the virus from spreading: wear a mask, physically distance from others, wash your hands, avoid gatherings and stay home when sick.
It is also important to not delay your health care if you have any medical issue or concern. We have put many safeguards in place for the safety of our staff and patients. To schedule an appointment or virtual visit, please call your Oregon Clinic provider’s office, which is located on our website.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your healthcare team. We are honored to take care of our community during this difficult time.
