The Oregon Clinic

Only program in Portland to be designated by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for quality and patient safety

The Oregon Clinic is excited to announce that its new Lung Cancer Screening Program is now ACR Designated, the only imaging site in Oregon to receive this esteemed recognition for quality and patient safety from the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR Designated Lung Cancer Screening Centers must have at least one accredited computed tomography (CT) unit that meets requirements for acceptable lung cancer screening performance.

“We felt it was important to achieve ACR designation and third-party validation of our equipment, processes, and staff to help patients and referring physicians know they’ve chosen the best lung cancer screening program in the Portland area,” stated Patrice Manley, director of Diagnostic Imaging Services for The Oregon Clinic.

Dr. Bradford Glavan, Medical Director for The Oregon Clinic’s Lung Cancer Screening Program, added: “I commend everyone at Diagnostic Imaging for their steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and patient experience. It is through working together that we have achieved ACR Designation for the Lung Cancer Screening Program, in addition to being ACR Accredited for MRI, CT, and ultrasound.”

The US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) now recommends lung cancer screening with low-dose CT scans of the chest for patients age 55-80, with a 30 pack/year history of smoking, who continue to smoke or have quit smoking within the last 15 years, and would be willing and able to undergo curative treatment. The Oregon Clinic Lung Cancer Screening Program meets all USPSTF requirements, is coordinated through the patient’s primary care physician, and uses one of the few ultra low-dosage CT scanners in the Portland community.

The Lung Cancer Screening Program is available by referral through a care provider. To refer a patient, physicians may click here or call (503) 963-3030.
