Jason C. Wells, MD, has joined the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division of The Oregon Clinic. Dr. Wells recently completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. His special interest is in the diagnosis and management of the various idiopathic interstitial pneumonias.
“I am looking forward to working with the pulmonary medicine team at The Oregon Clinic,” said Dr. Wells. “I’m proud to be working with such a talented team of physicians and scientists who are dedicated medical leaders. It’s an exciting time to be working with the pulmonary division of The Oregon Clinic,” he said.
After graduating with high distinction in microbiology from the University of Michigan, Dr. Wells received his medical degree in 2006 from Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York. He then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisc., before beginning his fellowship in 2009.
“We are honored to have Dr. Jason Wells join our medical staff,” said Dr. David Hotchkin of The Oregon Clinic’s Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division. “Dr. Wells is a highly trained, well-regarded pulmonologist who comes to us from one of the best training centers for pulmonary medicine in the United States. He was actively recruited by several prestigious institutions and chose to join our clinic after an extensive search. Dr. Wells brings additional expertise to the treatment and research of interstitial lung disease. We believe Dr. Wells will be an asset to the excellent pulmonary care for which The Oregon Clinic is already so well known,” he said.
Dr. Wells is the recipient of the 2008 Research Travel Award from the University of Wisconsin and has conducted basic science and clinical research in his specialty. Originally from Jackson, Mich., Dr. Wells now lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife. He enjoys watching and participating in ice hockey, snowboarding, and traveling.
